Lysine and arginine for high trait anxiety

Recently I read few research articles claiming reduction of high trait anxiety after administration of lysine and arginine. I have to try these combination to see the effect on my stuttering and the effect on my social anxiety.

  1. I have tried the combination of lysine and arginine, and the results have been nothing short of astounding. I had been virtually housebound for years, fearful of even a casual conversation with anyone other than the closest of friends. How long should I keep eye contact; what would I possibly have to say; these fears and a thousand more left my body quaking in public places. I felt awful for my wife and children, but the fear of being gripped with terror and the blushing of my skin to a crimson shade when this happened kept me from attending so many events which I so regret experiencing.Nearly a year ago, I saw a Dr. Oz show on boosting your metabolism. He suggested L-arginine, and so I thought I would give it a try. I noticed no increase in my metabolism, but I experienced a strange side effect; all the crazy little fears just dissapeared, and the larger fears regarding public places and interacting with people, although didn't completely dissapear, I have happily found have become very manageable. I didn't put it together for nearly two weeks why this had happened, and when I researched arginine online, I found there had been studies done with both arginine and lysine. After purchasing l-lysine to go with my l-arginine, I found that my extreme social anxiety had further abated. I just returned from a weekend at a baseball game and casino; two events I would never have attended over the last 30 years. It is wonderful to have a life again.

  2. The reason why this is helping is because the combination of lysine and arginine are blocking the pathway of cortisol, our natural stresshormone. Cortisol blocks 5-htp when it needs to convert itself to serotonine. Social activity is linked with high serotonine levels... However, try to look for faith, for it has a permanent solution to your problem ;)
