Effects of egg consumption, abstinence from multivitamin and milk consumption and meat consumption on hand pain

For the past 3-4 months, I have stopped all multivitamins. For the past 20 days (during the fasting month) to 1 month, I have been consuming two eggs per day (one at breakfast and another one at dinner). Also, I have consumed mainly wheat based items for past 15 days.

Positive effects:

1. Reduced anxiety and feelings of joy happened after stopping the fasting. This lasted for few days and start to decrease after that.
2. Reduced stuttering and gasping for breath while talking
3. Increased libido, strong erections, enhanced feeling of orgasm.

Negative effects:

1. Unable to sustain focus or concentration on research related work (review and writing of papers).
2. Reduced productivity in terms of research related work.
3. Hand pain, lower back pain and buttock muscles pain (gluteal muscle) slowly start to occur after 3 months of abstinence from multivitamins. Sometimes, the pain gives much discomfort in continuing the computer work.

Milk consumption:

1. These negative effects are almost overcome by the consumption of full cream milk at night just before going to bed. Half a glass full cream milk was consumed after 4 hours of dinner and just before to lie on bed. Next morning, higher energy levels, positive mood, increased focus and concentration were observed. This effect was observed with all dairy products such as milk, yoghurt, butter and ghee except cheese. However, the pain component stayed there. Not much change was observed in the hand pain, finger pain, low back pain and buttock muscle pain.

Hand pain and meat consumption:

Due to heavy laptop use with mouse, I used to get right hand pain around the wrist, palm and fingers. With rest, this pain usually subsides. Sometimes, the pain is severe. Nowadays, I am not taking any multivitamin. But, I am consuming two eggs per day one in the lunch and dinner. Still, the hand pain is there almost everyday. With rest (not using laptop and mouse), the pain disappears. After consumption of meat (mutton, beef and chicken with mutton being the most significant influencer and chicken the least), I have observed that the pain subsides significantly. Also, this hand pain also subsides after consumption of calcium, magnesium, zinc tablet. These observations suggest that the meat products may contain these minerals and might offer the reduction of hand pain. However, the amount of calcium and zinc in mutton and beef meat are not really that much. So, alternatively, based on my previous experiences, the role of vitamin B12 may be suspected here as meat products especially mutton and beef contain more B12 and might offer some neurological cure to hand pain.

Update on hand pain 2 July 2020:

The hand pain decreased very much after I stopped egg consumption for two days. I am taking osteocare tablets and diabetone capsules every day. Need to analyse which one has reduced the hand pain.

Update on hand pain 25 July 2020:

I have taken magnesium at night after dinner (200 mg of magnesium from vitabiotics brand; They have not mentioned what form of magnesium is present in the tablet) for last few days and found my muscle pain and hand pain decreased substantially. However, the focus and concentration decreased very much with magnesium consumption at night.

Effects of Rasagiline

I have taken Rasagiline 0.5 mg once daily in morning after breakfast for three days. For the last one week, I was not taking any multivitamin tablets.
 

Positive effects:

1. Less anxiety
2. Less stuttering - Less gasping for breath while speaking, slightly increased loudness of voice
3. Less sleepiness after lunch; even in the night also, no complete sleep
4. Music is enjoyable

Neutral effects:

1. No significant improvement in focus, concentration and energy
2. No significant improvement in libido

Negative effects:

1. Slight insomnia
2. Slight postural instability

Treatments / therapies to try

1. Take benzodiazepine (alprazolam) for 1 - 2 months. Then, stop. It may cause increased drive of noradrenaline and dopamine. I used to take this combination in 2000 before joining the job. It increased the libido and affection tremendously.

2. Take 2 - 4 eggs (preferably half boiled) daily for 2 months. It increased libido and erection strength.

3. Go for walking 45 minutes two times (preferably one in morning and one in evening) daily.

4. Stop drinking tea and coffee. Take green tea with brown sugar or honey two times daily. Avoid white sugar. Avoid eating rice. Consume wheat based products only. Take thiamine 25 mg two times daily. I did this during Ramadhan fasting and found no stuttering and gasping for breath. Not much of sleepiness also.

5. Take folic acid, vitamin B12 and vitamin A and vitamin C to avoid peripheral neuropathy symptoms.

Deficiency of Alpha-Linolenic acid causes disturbances in dopaminergic neurotransmission

More and more reports in recent years have shown that the intake of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) constitutes an environmental factor able to act on the central nervous system (CNS) function. We recently demonstrated that the effects of PUFA on behavior can be mediated through effects on the monoaminergic neurotransmission processes. Supporting this proposal, we showed that chronic dietary deficiency in alpha-linolenic acid in rats induces abnormalities in several parameters of the mesocortical and mesolimbic dopaminergic systems. In both systems, the pool of dopamine stored in presynaptic vesicles is strongly decreased. This may be due to a decrease in the number of vesicles. In addition, several other factors of dopaminergic neurotransmission are modified according to the system affected. The mesocortical system seems to be hypofunctional overall [e.g., decreased basal release of dopamine (DA) and reduced levels of dopamine D2 (DAD2) receptors]. In contrast, the mesolimbic system seems to be hyperfunctional overall (e.g., increased basal release of DA and increased levels of DAD2 receptors). These neurochemical changes are in agreement with modifications of behavior already described with this deficiency. The precise mechanisms explaining the effects of PUFA on neurotransmission remain to be clarified. For example, modifications of physical properties of the neuronal membrane, effects on proteins (receptors, transporters) enclosed in the membrane, and effects on gene expression and/or transcription might occur. Whatever the mechanism, it is therefore assumed that interactions exist among PUFA, neurotransmission, and behavior. This might be related to clinical findings. Indeed, deficits in the peripheral amounts of PUFA have been described in subjects suffering from neurological and psychiatric disorders. Involvement of the monoaminergic neurotransmission function has been demonstrated or hypothesized in several of these diseases. It can therefore be proposed that functional links exist among PUFA status, neurotransmission processes, and behavioral disorders in humans. Animal models are tools of choice for the understanding of such links. Improved prevention and complementary treatment of neurological and psychiatric diseases can be expected from these studies.

current medication and diet

Diet: Oats in morning and night; rice, vegetables and fish curry and one piece of sliced fish either fried or curry cooked.

Medications:
Morning: one tablet of Multi B + C after breakfast
Night: two capsules of mega-3, 1/2 tablet of folic acid 5 mg, 1/4 tablet of thiamine mononitrate 100 mg

This combination gives good balance between fluent speech, mood, focus, concentration and energy. In this combination, folic acid appears to be responsible for the improvement in mood. If I don't take folic acid, then dullness and negative thoughts start appearing.

Update on 18 Feb 2018:

Diet:
Morning: 1-2 Wheat dosa/Ragi dosa + 1 Egg (Organic selenium enriched - 44 mcg of selenium per 100 g of egg; each egg approximately weighs around 60 - 80 g)
Lunch: Rice + Two vegetables + 1 egg (normal egg - no selenium enriched)
Dinner: 1-2 Wheat/Ragi Dosa + 1 Apple + 1 Orange

Medications:
Morning: 1 capsule of Blackmore Multivitamins + Minerals; 1 capsule of Blackmore Vitamin D3 1000 mcg; 25 mg of Thiamine mononitrate
Night: 25 mg of Thiamine mononitrate; 1 capsule of 500 mg of L-Tryptophan

Effects: Thiamine mononitrate used to worsen the cold intolerance. That means, If I take thiamine mononitrate, I used to feel very cold whenever the temperature goes below 25 deg C. This effect seems to be countered by intake of L-tryptophan. The sugar intake (sugar added in tea - morning and evening) seems to decrease the frequency of vocal blocks. The most effect is experienced when the refined white sugar is taken. This clearly indicates that there could be some impairment of tryptophan transport into the brain. It appears that effective tryptophan transport across blood brain barrier requires significant amount of insulin to clear the other large neutral amino acids. However, there appears to be no problem with the phenylalanine and tyrosine transport into the brain. However, this cannot be concluded.

Probiotics and increased focus and concentration

Lactobacillus reuteri consumption increased testosterone levels.
